S. CROCE - S. POLO

Si tratta di due sestieri della città che presero il loro nome dalle chiese lì costruite. Si dice che i primi abitanti si siano insediati in piccole isole chiamate "Rivus Altus" o "Rialto" da sempre il mercato di Venezia. In questa parte della città, oltre al mercato sempre animato e attorniato da molti localini tipici, è bello passeggiare per le calli e raggiungere due tra i più famosi e bei monumenti di Venezia: la chiesa dei Frari e la Scuola Grande di S.Rocco

These two "sestieri" are named after the churches built there. The first inhabitants are said to have settled in small islands known as " Rivus Altus" or " Rialto" since then, the traditional place for the Venice market. As well as the market itself, full of life and ringed by numerous typical bars and taverns, it is worth strolling through this part of the city to visit two of Venice's most famous and beautiful monuments, the church of I Frari and the Scuola Grande di San Rocco.
